Rebecca Huston studied mastering in a year long apprenticeship at Timeless Mastering in Brooklyn, NY in 2019 under the guidance of Heba Kadry and Adrian Morgan. In addition to 5 years of mastering she has 20 years of working in studio as a recording artist, producer and mix engineer along with 8 years of live sound experience. Currently she is mastering from her studio, The Forest, in Silverlake, Los Angeles.
The studio has some exciting addition this year: the PSI A23-M studio monitors. So pristine and accurate. Additionally, the signal path offers analog processing from the Manley Massive Passive Stereo tube EQ, Avalon Vt474sp tube stereo compressor/EQ and the Crane Song STC-8 stereo compressor along with a new AD/DA, the Lynx Hilo.
Pricing and Deliverables:
$115 for the first song/single song and $85 for every other song on a release. The first song is more expensive because I create 3 versions of the master and send them back to you, the artist/team for notes. From there a favorite may be selected, I do some edits, if needed, honing in on the desired sound. Then I use that final result as a starting point for the rest of the album/tracks. This method streamlines the process, resulting in the most cohesive album that you will be really satisfied with.
What to send:
Send digital WAV or AIFF files of bit depths 16, 24, or 32 bit and sample rates between 44.1 and 96k. (It is usually best to bounce the track down using the same bit depth/sample rate as the original session and recording.)
• These mixes should have headroom of about (2-3 dB minimum) without limiter, ideally.
• If you have created a bounce of the track with limiting (your own rough mastering) I would love to hear that as reference.
• Also, for reference, send me 2-3 tracks by other artists that you love. Specifically, songs you would like your music to have a similar sonic energy, sub level, tone and loudness.
• Let me know if you are planning to release on vinyl, CD, cassette, digital or all of the above. Depending on your needs, there may be extra charges.
